In May 2020, Spireworks opened its interactive lighting and donation platform to the entire globe via Spireworks.live to donate money to the Coronavirus Relief Fund and control the iconic building lights of New York City safely from the comfort of their own home, anywhere in the world. Along with the integration with GlobalGiving’s platform, provided a collective experience.

United Airlines at JFK

United came to Spireworks to announce their return to John F. Kennedy Airport. They wanted to engage Spireworks members and United Employees for this important event. United and Spireworks gave users an elevated and integrated Spireworks experience, allowing guests to take over all of Spireworks’ New York City spires with specialized United Airlines themes to celebrate the event.

Ferrari 70th Anniversary

Ferrari celebrated its 70th Anniversary with an event that featured an elevated and integrated Spireworks experience for guests. The event showcased 70 of Ferrari’s classic cars in five exhibits spread throughout the city. A custom-branded iPad interface allowed guests to take over all of Spireworks’ New York City spires with specialized Ferrari themes to celebrate the anniversary and engage guests. Ferrari’s event was in partnership with international humanitarian organization Save the Children in powering a child’s ability to achieve their dreams.

National Parks Service Centennial

The National Park Service celebrated their Centennial at Brooklyn Bridge Park on 22 August 2016. The event featured an interactive game which involved utilizing Spireworks to light up the spire at One World Trade Center. Remarks were made by Bill Nye, U.S. Secretary of the Interior Sally Jewell, Will Shafroth (National Park Foundation President), Regina Myer (Brooklyn Bridge Park President), Helena Durst, among others, as well as a musical performance by QuestLove.

CAUSE-BASED LIGHTING

International Women's Day 2019

In celebration of International Women’s Day, Spireworks partnered with Security Traders Association of New York (STANY) Women in Finance to light up the One World Trade Center’s spire and 4-sided podium to IWD’s iconic purple. The purple shined brightly in New York’s skyline and in downtown Manhattan to celebrate women’s achievements and to raise awareness for equality. The lighting event amplified the 2019 IWD theme: #BetterforBalance, encouraging support for their mission.

LIVE ACTIVATION

Rod Laver 50th Anniversary

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of winning his second calendar Grand Slam, Spireworks held a live lighting activation with Australian Tennis legend, Rod Laver. On a live broadcast, Laver lit NYC’s One World Trade Center with the colors of the Australian flag all the way from Melbourne, Australia using the Spireworks app.
